Ricky Palermo Foundation
2024
Our first event this year started out by being invited to Syracuse for an event that my committee did not have to plan all the behind the scenes logistics. We appreciate Nick, Sue and Olivia Marra for hosting our first ever event outside of our local Genesee County.
I want to THANK comedians cousin Nick Marra and Gomez Adams for putting together a dinner/comedy show that included a delicious dinner at Bella Domani party house in Syracuse New York. On short notice, we had 125 new friends show up to enjoy the evening with us.
This is so encouraging for me to see that we are continuing to spread AWARENESS about Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI). Unfortunately, SCI's are continuing to happen to so many people that are just innocently enjoying life, but because of our foundations awareness, many families are now being guided in the right direction.
THANK YOU TEAM SYRACUSE
FYI – I will be sending flyers to ALL of our wonderful supporters shortly after Easter.

We partner with businesses and organizations in our local community to host non profit events.
Your participation and donations fund spinal cord research.
That research directly affects the lives of those with spinal cord injuries.
Our mission is to raise funds and awareness for spinal cord injury research. In 26 years, we have donated $1.8 million to our community and to research at The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis.
$1,285,000 to The Miami Project
Over $215,000 to our local Batavia Hospital
Over $220,000 to our FES bike program at the local Batavia YMCA
Approximately $52,000 to the spinal wing at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY
We are so proud of what we have accomplished so far and won’t give up until we have a cure!
Golf Ball Drop
Purchase a golf ball to enter our Tournament day helicopter golf ball drop . This golf ball drop is in memory of our loved ones who have passed but are still here with us in spirit. On August 5th 2023, for our 27th Annual Ricky Palermo Foundation Golf Tournament we will drop all of the purchased balls from a helicopter. Each ball receives a number and if yours is closest to the pin or even better, a hole in one, you will win fifty percent of the funds raised for this special part of our yearly event (this is separate from our 50/50). Last year we sold 400 balls and this year we are hoping to double that. For more information and to enter, click the link below.
ABOUT
Founding Story
Forty years ago, life as he knew it changed when Ricky Palermo was involved in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. Since then, with help from a close knit community of family and friends, Ricky has dedicated his life to the foundation that bears his name and finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.
We couldn’t do it without YOU
We wouldn’t be where we are today without the help we receive from our friends, family, and volunteers.
Meet the team
A special thanks to our partners otherwise known as our “team” in our local community, The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, and The Buoniconti Fund.
